The World would be different, were it not for the many brave aviators and the B-17 bombers that helped the Allies achieve victory during W.W.II.  They made today’s freedoms possible.  The B-17 Flying Fortress, truly the technology of the times – was considered one of the greatest military airplanes ever built.

The EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) has completed a ten-year restoration of one of these magnificent War Birds, nicknamed ‘Aluminum Overcast’.  Since 1994 the B-17 National Tours (www.b17.org), have taken place each spring and fall.

The local EAA 690 chapter (www.eaa690.org) is hosting the B-17 tour stop October 17-19, at the Lawrenceville GA airport (Briscoe Field).  Be there for EAA’s Salute to Veterans Tour, and take a trip back in time – experience a real sense of history!

The 40 minute ‘Missions’ will be available for purchase by the public, where you can actually fly on the B-17!   Experience the gunner positions, the bombardier station, or flight engineer position and feel the might of this incredible flying machine!

The pre-booking price (www.b17.org) is $399.00 per person, or $425.00 at the gate.  Ground tours will be available at the completion of flight operations each day, where you can fully explore the B-17!  Admission to the ground tours is $5.00 for adults, but W.W.II veterans and kids under 8 are admitted free!
